What Is Video Skin Retouching?
Video skin retouching removes a temporary mark from a face across a whole clip: a bandage or plaster, a cut or bruise, a blemish, a cold sore, a pen mark. The goal is not a beauty filter. It is to make the mark disappear while the skin, the lighting and the expression stay exactly as they were.
On a still photo this is a few minutes of healing-brush work. On video the face moves, turns and changes expression, so the patch has to be tracked to the skin and rebuilt on every frame. If it is not, the repair slides, flickers or blurs, and the viewer notices it more than the original mark.
Most of this work comes from interviews and corporate video, where the speaker cannot be rebooked and the shoot cannot be repeated. A clean fix in post costs a fraction of a reshoot.
